Church: a community of broken people growing together

by Asher Witmer  - August 23, 2018

Do you go to church? Why do you go to church? If you don’t go to church, why don’t you? What is it that draws you to a particular church? What are you looking for?

I think, at some level, what we look for in a church are the same things any of us look for in community.

We desire a place to belong, a tribe to call our own. We long for a place where we can find life and feel a sense of purpose and value. And I think what all of us are looking for in community is the peace humanity had with God in Eden.

But we’re not in Eden.

Instead, we have been invited into a movement of people coming from diverse types of backgrounds and ethnicities. We’ve been called to join a people whose hearts and generational narratives are getting completely rewritten as God unites us all as one family in Jesus Christ.

This is what we’re looking at in the fourth email of my new eCourse, Making Sense of Life. To learn more about it, and how you can access the course, check out this page.
